<p>After the PSS weekend we did a bit of a tour and I found a nice little site at Bowentown. Just search for Bowentown on Google maps - there's only one. There's a beach at Anzac Bay with a bank behind, not very high but enough to develop some decent lift.</p><p></p><p>Nice big landing zone behind the carpark, and you can literally drive right up to the site, step out of your car and start flying. <img src="//content.invisioncic.com/r242836/emoticons/default_biggrin.png" alt=":D" srcset="//content.invisioncic.com/r242836/emoticons/biggrin@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20"></p><p></p><p>Local wind was SW, but I think more Westerly in the region on the day I was there.</p><p></p><p>Probably not worth going out of your way to fly there, but if you're in the vicinity it's worth a look. <img src="//content.invisioncic.com/r242836/emoticons/default_icon_cool.gif" alt="8-)"></p><p></p><p>Jason</p>

<p>Mount Maunganui - Slope </p><p></p><p>An amazing site in a stunning location. You can fly your radio control soaring machines here in most wind directions. Best suited to North East winds.</p><p></p><p>How to get there: There are two ways to get to the top - the easy, slower way and the more difficult track. If you are fit then the quicker way is fine.</p><p></p><p>As an extra bonus, there is a camp site right at the bottom of the hill</p><p></p><p></p><p>Specs: Huge lump of rock 232 metres high.<a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" href="//content.invisioncic.com/r242836/monthly_04_2009/post-2-13812670043722.jpg" rel="external nofollow"><img src="//content.invisioncic.com/r242836/monthly_04_2009/post-2-13812670043722_thumb.jpg" data-fileid="308" alt="post-2-13812670043722_thumb.jpg"></a></p>
